I'm very excited to present Tech Switch, the brand new _ensnare_ album!

Almost a year in the making, this represents a fusion of dance and chip sounds that will form the basis of my new live set. It was inspired by my experiences playing live as _ensnare_ for the first time at Blip Australia and by my desire to keep pushing _ensnare_ forward in new directions.

It really was a big effort to get this finished alongside all my other work, so as usual your support of the _ensnare_ project is hugely appreciated! I've put together a few different packages for this one, so see the bottom of the post for purchasing options.

For the first time, I've decided to make it possible to stream the entire album for free. You can do that right here in a mixed format. Please note, the tracklisting of the mix is slightly different to the final tracklisting, just for the purposes of flow in a mixed format!

Here's a work-in-progress of a forthcoming track from Tech Switch - it's a crazy 90's rave thing...I don't really understand it but it's fun anyway!

This is the most ambitious _ensnare_ album to date. I'm using Plogue Chipsounds and a Yamaha DX100 synth (sporting very similar sound architecture to the Megadrive), as well as some Megadrive and SoundBlaster sounfonts, to create what I hope is a kind of huge hybrid chip / dance music sound that's a bit unusual and SUPER melodic! I want it to sound like a kind of giant insane Franken-arcade-machine with a million joysticks. Album is about 50% complete and it is a slow burner, but I'm really excited to get this done and I hope it will be there by the end of the year.

I have been quiet for a while but here is a preview of a remix I've done for Dubmood that should be out in a few weeks time. It's a track from his new album Overlander, which is pretty awesome.

_ensnare_ tracks feature in Starcraft 2 documentary!

Team Liquid are one of the greatest (and best known) Starcraft 2 teams in the world.

Documentary maker Michael Krukar contacted me and asked if I'd be willing to allow him to use some _ensnare_ tracks in a documentary which is being created to support the team and I accepted!

The track from the trailer ("Top Five Control") is available on my album Impeccable Micro, which is "pay what you want!"

I'm not receiving any money from the documentary itself, so if you like the music, please support me by picking up my albums.

Anyone who knows me has been bored at some point by my rantings about the awesomness of the pro Starcraft scene, so being involved with it in some way is fantastic. The fact that it's Liquid is also cool - the first pro match I ever watched was TLO vs. oGs.Hyperdub from GSL Season 1.
